Question, Please Answer

OK so here it goes, How do you dry your pots, pans, wine glasses, etc. that you do not want in the dish washer? Either for taking up room space or for delicate purposes. I know there are drying racks out there. But..... They never seem to be big enough or user friendly enough. I am asking because I am having one of my crazy ideas that need much thought and trial and error before I proceed.

P.S. I really need everyone's thought on this. So please leave a comment even if you normally do not. Thanks, Dona. I have a prototype in the works and it would be super cool to know how you all deal with this. As you can see I use a towel, only thing big enough.

I am stumped. I don't own a dishwasher so you would think I would have a great answer for you...I am sure you will come up with something great!

Hi Dona, I use a tea towel sometimes, but I have an old dish drainer I use most of the time.
Can hardly wait to see your idea. Linda

hmmmmmmm. Well, I have a double sink, so I often use one side for drying. I can't see above your sink, but a girl I know via a scrapbook website said that in Europe they have a rack that hangs above the sink so things drip dry, up and out of the way. If you're interested, I'll email her about it.

Hi Dona,

I use a dish towel too. I used to use a plastic dish drainer thing but since having a dishwasher it's just not something I need - or have space for for that matter. Oh and as I recall, it would always get cruddy. Can't wait to see your idea.

Hugs,
Dena

Hi Dona, I too use a dishtowel. Mostly because I think dish drains are all ugly and I really don't like to loose any counter space. Wish I had a better idea but I don't. I can't wait to see what you have brewing!

Just me popping back to see if you had posted the new creation....I'm probably to impatient. Linda

I do the exact same thing as you. I have thought about getting a rack, but where would I put it when not in use? Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Well, first I wash them before I dry them. :D I have a dish drainer that fits in the sink. From washing to the dish drainer. Then from there I dry them with a dish towel and put them away.

I don't use a drying rack, because I so seldom wash by hand, and it would be in the way most of the time. I'm not one to have lots of stuff on my counters. I had a wooden one for awhile, but It was a hassle. I too, use just a towel. I'd love to know what you are thinking of though.
